Steve Dennis has over 45 years of developing emerging computing technology and delivering mission automation and capability to a wide spectrum of security & applications in the public and private sector. As the founding Director of the Advanced Computing Technology at DHS, Steve led the development of new mission capabilities for cybersecurity, counterterrorism, law enforcement, disaster response, and public safety and security. Steve also served as the Technical Director for the Homeland Security Advanced Research Projects Agency, where he mentored high risk technology development programs to demonstrate powerful next generation capabilities across multiple security missions. Steve’s private sector experience includes emerging technology product conceptualization, development and delivery for a variety of applications and markets. Steve is currently a Professor of Practice in Computer Science and Visiting Fellow at the Frost Institute for Data Science and Computing at the University of Miami, Principal Investigator at the International Computer Science Institute in Berkeley, and an alumnus of the University of Maryland and Clemson University.
